The Free University of Bolzano-Bozen is internationally recognized as a leading small university and one of the top institutions in Italy. Covision Lab cofounded the professorship (2021-2024) of Prof. Oswald Lanz who leads the "VCL Lab" at UniBZ. Covision Lab still partners with UniBZ to advance research in computer vision and deep learning.

Pietro Perona is the Allan E. Puckett Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computation and Neural Systems at the California Institute of Technology and the Director of the Caltech Computational Vision Group.

Rita Cucchiara is Full Professor of Computer Vision and Head of AImageLab at the Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She is the Director of the ELLIS Unit of Modena and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Institute of Technology.

Paolo Lugli has been the Rector of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (2017-2024) and previously Dean of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. Professor Lugli conducts research on nanoelectronics and molecular electronics.
